Last night we held our first Restorative/Yin Yoga class with our new yoga instructor Jacey and what an amazing experience it was!
The method behind this type of yoga class is to hold poses for longer periods of time (3-5 min) to allow for a deep opening in the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis and spine. You will go through a series of gentle and passive poses that will help increase circulation to the organs and calm the nervous system. Props can be used to help support the body and allow for complete relaxation.
Jacey explained that Yin Yoga is the other half to our Yang lifestyle. This class enables you to focus inward on your breath, calm your mind, and allow your body to relax to increase flexibility in our connective tissue. You will leave relaxed and ready for a great nights sleep!!
